Project Overview: Building a Community Center for Von Ormy

At Von Ormy Cares, our mission is to strengthen our community by spreading hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and providing essential services that uplift individuals and families. Central to this mission is our ambitious goal of building a community center that will serve as a hub for vital programs and services.

Our Vision

We envision a thriving, resilient community where the quality of life is enhanced by affordable childcare, food security, community support, critical home repairs, and accessible literacy for all. Our community center will foster connections, provide resources, and strengthen the bonds of our community, allowing everyone to grow and thrive in a Christ-centered environment.

Our Goals

• Affordable Childcare: Providing quality, affordable childcare rooted in Christian values to support working parents and nurture the next generation.

• Food Security Initiatives: Combating food insecurity through food pantries, meal distribution programs, and community gardens.

• Community Support Services: Assisting neighbors in need with clothing drives, utility assistance, emergency relief efforts, and critical home repairs.

• Literacy Programs: Promoting literacy and education through partnerships with the Von Ormy Library, offering reading programs, tutoring, and educational resources.

Our Efforts

To bring this vision to life, we are actively pursuing grants and raising funds to support the construction and operation of the community center. Our fundraising efforts include applying for startup grants, soliciting donations from local businesses, churches, and philanthropists, and creating an online fundraising platform. We also host donor drives and fundraising events such as charity dinners and crowdfunding campaigns.
