Volusia Senior Learning is a not-for-profit organization envisioned by three local women involved with college education experiences and employment. Volusia Senior Learning was created to offer senior citizens in-depth, high quality “academic-type” classes on a wide range of topics. Classes are offered in four, 1 ½ hour sessions for a total of six hours of learning for $60.
These educational opportunities are designed to enrich the lives of senior citizens of Volusia County and stay engaged in learning to promote mental, emotional and social activity needed for healthy aging. Volusia Senior Learning is unique to Volusia County and began in February 2019. Classes are offered in East and West Volusia.
Classes have been held at YMCA classrooms, Independent Living Centers, subdivisions for 55+ residents and condo’s. Topics for classes are selected by suggestions provided by seniors.
