The Community Schools team have previously hosted alternative breaks for college organizations. There is also an opportunity for students to request professional development experience, such as career panels.
We currently partner with the Masters of Public Health programs at Drexel, Jefferson, and Penn. Please apply through your university program.
Student groups can volunteer long-term or for one-off events.
Students can either volunteer as an individual or reach out via email to coordinate a group project.

In your email, include the following information:
Organization's purpose/mission
Project idea.
Proposed date and time of service project. Reach out at least 2 months ahead of proposed date.
Preferred region of the city (Ex. West, South, North, Northeast). There are 20 Community Schools located throughout the city.
# of volunteers expected.
Do you plan on donating materials to carry out the project?
PLEASE NOTE: Group volunteering is not available for the Philly Reading Coaches program as it is a weekly afterschool program.
Volunteer at a free grocery giveaway.
Paint school walls.
Organize the school library.
Clean up community closet and food pantry in school.
Pack food boxes for holiday turkey distribution.
Volunteer at a community garden (only available at Gideon, Locke, and South Philly High).
