Travels
In my free time, when I’m not with my wife and our three kids, I love to travel. Over the years, I’ve visited many places — from the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, Peru, and Bolivia to the remote beauty of Svalbard, the beaches of Hawaii, and the cultural highlights of Morocco and Malaysia, along with a number of other great destinations.
Sports
When I was growing up, I tried lots of different sports. I spent most of my time playing floorball and, as a kid and later a junior, I played for Sportcentrum, Sparta Prague, and Black Angels. I also gave baseball a try during my school years.
When I started college, my interests shifted and I got really into Ultimate Frisbee. I played for TREE and Terrible Monkeys, and I also joined some recreational soccer leagues, including Hanspaulka and the Strahov League.
After having knee surgery, I switched to sports that were easier on my joints. That’s when I got into cycling and running, which have become a nice, balanced way for me to stay active.
Scouting
I also spent several years leading a scout group and later a whole scout troop. Scouting is a great way for young people to have adventures and grow into well-rounded adults. These days, I don’t have as much time as I used to, so my involvement is mostly limited to organizing family camps for scout leaders and their kids. Even with the smaller role, I still enjoy helping others experience a bit of adventure and personal development through scouting.
