We have conducted eight expeditions into the Superstitions to collect data and pictures of the Circlestone ruin and the Paradise Overlook Circle. The expeditions and the analysis of the data collected have been primarily made up of students majoring in different disciplines: History, Geography, Geology, Math, Communication, Biology and Web Design. They earned Honors Program credit, Service Learning credit or Special Projects credit toward their degrees. The Undergraduate Research Program at Mesa Community College began with the Circlestone Project an has since included a National Science Foundation Grant to record and study weathering on rock art in the Petrified National Forest, The effect of Ubanization on Small Mammal Populations, A Rattlesnake Tracking project, Studies in Human Psychology and many others. The college is a member of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) and has a standing Faculty Undergraduate Research Committee.
