Voca ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Voca mobile application ("App").
Journal Transcripts: When you create a voice journal entry, the transcribed text is processed to provide AI-powered insights. Transcripts are stored locally on your device.
Payments and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.
We use journal transcripts solely to:
Enable App Functionality: Generate AI-powered summaries, key points, focus areas, and insights
Personalize Your Experience: Provide tailored recommendations, follow-up questions, perspective shifts, and thinking frameworks based on your journal entries
Important:
Transcripts are sent to OpenAI (our AI processing partner) solely for analysis. Transcripts are not linked to your identity—no user ID, email address, name, or device identifier is transmitted with the transcript. Transcripts are not used for advertising, tracking, or shared with data brokers.

Privacy: OpenAI processes transcripts according to its own privacy policy. We do not use OpenAI’s services for advertising or tracking.
Purpose: Subscription management and payment processing
Data: Payment information is handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment details.
Local Storage: All journal entries, audio recordings, and photos are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We do not maintain servers that store your personal journal content.
Data Transmission: Only transcript text is transmitted to OpenAI for processing. No other personal content leaves your device.
Security: We use industry-standard security practices to protect data in transit. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Local Data: Journal entries, recordings, and photos remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
OpenAI: We do not control OpenAI’s data retention policies. Please refer to OpenAI’s privacy policy for information about how it handles data.
You have the right to:
Access: View all journal entries stored locally on your device
Delete: Delete individual entries or remove all data by uninstalling the App
Opt-Out: Disable AI processing by canceling your Voca Plus subscription
Voca is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and reflected by an updated “Last Updated” date.
