Vision

India is poised to become a 1 trillion Dollar economy where Electronics powered by Semiconductors is going to play a critical role. VLSI Society of India’s Vision to make India “a World-Class Semiconductor Product Nation” with focus on Research, Technology, Products, Manufacturing, Talent Development and Skilling. The next 5 year from (2023-2028) are crucial for making a transition from a large Semiconductor consuming nation to large Semiconductor producing nation. Working together with all stake holders from Academia, Industry and Government, VSI is working towards the following goals and envisages:

-          5,000 PhD in Semiconductor Research, Technology Development and VLSI Design

-          125,000 VLSI Design Engineers

-          5,000 Technicians for Semiconductor Manufacturing (Fab, Display, ATMP)

-          1,000 Fabless Semiconductor Product Companies

-          Semiconductor Manufacturing (FAB, ATMP, Display)

For achieving this Vision, VSI is working towards 2 Specific Initiatives:

1. Build 1,000 Fabless product companies across the country with at-least 1 fabless product company in each of 766 districts of India.

2. Launch B. Tech program in Electronics & VLSI Design in 100 Institutions across India for producing world class talent.

VLSI Society of India is committed to India’s Semiconductor Mission and develop India as “Semiconductor Product Nation” over the next decade.
