Royal Welcome

To all the staff, teachers, and attendees of this the 2024 virtual Known World Heraldic and Scribal Symposium do We Matthias and Feilinn, Rex and Regina of the Eastern Lands send greetings. 

Since human memory is short and does not suffice for a crowd of things, the authority of those who preceded our age has decreed that those things were to be written down which the progress of fleeting time generally removes from the knowledge of men. As such We put down these words. 

To the Event Stewards, Anéžka Liška z Kolína from the Kingdom from the East, Malyss Makneile from the Kingdom of An Tir and Nest verch Gwilim from the Kingdom of Atlantia, We thank you for your time, dedication, and ability to put together a wonderful event.  

To the class coordinators, Konstantia Kaloethina from the Kingdom of Calontir, and Ollivier le Floch from the Kingdom of Lochac, for your work coordinating the scribal and heraldry classes respectively, thank you for lining up a wonderful list of teachers and classes. 

To the teachers, moderators, and other event staff, thank you for the work spreading the scribal and heraldic arts to the society.   

Finally, to everyone attending a class and taking the knowledge back to their local groups, thank you.

We, King Ulfgar and Queen Juahara, of the Kingdom of An Tir, send our greetings unto the Heralds and Scribes of the Known World in attendance at the Virtual Known World Heraldic and Scribal Symposium!

We are well pleased that you are here to share your knowledge and continue on your own path of learning. Your efforts enhance our Kingdom, as well as those across the Known World. You bring joy into our lives every time we look at the glorious scrolls that hang on walls in SCA homes across our Kingdom. The banners that hang in a feast hall, the research and registration of names and arms, the beautiful scrolls that are handed out at events to gasps of delight - these happen because of your diligence and skills. 

We wish you a successful event and look forward to what the future holds in these very important areas of our Society. You inspire Us!
