AN INVITATION FOR A FILM REVIEW

The Central Library of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata is inviting participation for a review of film. Our main focus is to promote participation of students. The year 2020 is the celebration of the birth centenary year of the greatest film maker Mr. Satyajit Ray. So we decided to pay a small tribute to versatile personality and all time India’s greatest film maker Mr. Ray. 

You are cordially invited to participate and to write a review on the National Award winning best feature film “Shatranj Ke khilari” in 1977. The film is based on short story of Munshi Premchand. Plot of the film is on the historical drama during period of 1856-1857, when Nabab Wajid Ali Shah ruled Awadh (whose capital is Lucknow).

"Awareness Program on National Digital Library of India"

Due to COVID-19 pandemic there is an increased demand for free resources and digital learning products.Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) has initiated the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) project to develop a framework of virtual repository of learning resources with a single-window search facility. The main motto of this workshop in this electronic platform is creating the awareness and how to access this large amount of e-resources through this single window.

Google Search Engine provides us with thousands of result of a single search with its vast database. Then, we  usually download our desired information and using copy and paste facility complete our projects or assignments. In this way, we fall prey to plagiarism. Intellectual property right covers artwork, patent, invention, literary work etc and these works are protected by copyright act. We have tried to focus our E-Workshop on plagiarism i.e. what comes under plagiarism, how to avoid and prevent plagiarism?

AN INVITATION FOR A FILM REVIEW

The Central Library of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata is inviting participation for a review of film. Our main focus is to promote the participation of students. On 23rd April was the death anniversary of Satyajit Ray and today (2nd May) is the 101st birth anniversary. We have decided to pay a small tribute to the versatile personality and all-time India’s greatest film maker.

You are cordially invited to participate and to write a review of the last of Ray’s Calcutta trilogy series. It was nominated for a National Award in the best feature film category in 1975, and Ray got the best director award for the film. "Jana Aranya” is based on the economic difficulties faced by middle-class, educated, urban youth in 1970s India.


Certificates will be provided to all participants for encouragement, best participant rewarded. Interested students are invited & submit the review within 09.05.2022 and for submission click here.
