Can we predict floods? Fluid Mechanics provides tools to understand the fluid flow in rivers, canals, or dam breaks. This knowledge, combined with the power of current computers, generates the possibility of simulating the movement of fluids through numerical models and, therefore, being able to efficiently and accurately predict the consequences of a flood.
