Join the VIU Harm Reduction Alliance and HealthyU VIU Nursing Students for a Harm Reduction Panel on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, from 2–5 PM at the Malaspina Theatre (Building 310).
This free event will bring together a diverse panel of speakers to share their experiences and insights on harm reduction and the toxic drug crisis in Nanaimo. The session will include a Q&A, free refreshments, and opportunities to learn, connect, and engage in meaningful discussion about community health and safety.
All are welcome—students, staff, and community members alike. Come take part in this important conversation and deepen your understanding of harm reduction in our community.

VIU Health & Wellness is inviting students to design a sticker that’s bold, inclusive, and stigma-reducing. The winning design will receive a $150 tuition credit and be featured across campus.
Contest Details:
Stickers must focus on harm reduction (reducing stigma, promoting inclusivity)
Include a QR code linking to the VIU Overdose Prevention Plan (OPP) website
Mention “VIU” somewhere in your design
Maximum size: 3x3 inches
