Client Eligibility

At our VITA site, volunteers offer free tax help to:

• Taxpayers who earn $58,000 or less

• Individuals with disabilities

However, we cannot help clients with the following:

• Taxpayers with income from the following sources:

  • Other gains/losses

  • Farm income

• Taxpayers affected by the Additional Medicare Tax

• Taxpayers who use the accrual method for reporting income

• Alimony/divorce agreement executed before 1985

• Taxpayers who buy or sell noncovered bonds between interest payment dates
