"to know her as"
Self-portrait in photography began as an experient to which would lead onself some form of self-discovery. Within this these discoveries, there were moments of joy but also sadness in realation to "Death". With death there comes with grievances of letting or learning how to let go, personal loss, personala ching , whilst given the self permission to explore new avenues in art. Portariture are in raw formation and will be altered by photoshop to produce an X-Ray version of the original portraits taken from my iphone. This process has allowed me to see, articulate things that I've never been able to. For the longest time, my artworks has always been in fragments; perhaps sometimes ghostly(lacking in opacity). With the portraits, I am learning how to comprehend how these peices will move together to create a cohesive strong foundation. We(I) are deciphering life in existence as we continue moving forward in this waking life. Death in artwork is still present. There's no demension and we can't see the flow of light to the dark shadows. This has created tension and depth within my visual narratives through the highlighting of contrasts and nuances. In this self-phorography portrait, has allowed an introspective and extremely personal point of view in photography as the current the thing/tools, that allowed me to see my work as a very effective tool for exploring the existential dimension of human feeling and existence by speaking to the soul.
