In this lab, we use Axwoman 7.0 to map the natural cities and natural streets.
Task1
The term “natural cities” refers to human settlements or human activities in general that are naturally or objectively defined. The following tutorial illustrates a step-by step way to identify the natural cities in China based on the nighttime light (NTL) data and characterize their living structure using the head/tail breaks method.

Task2
This tutorial includes several practical case studies in modeling and visualizing urban natural streets/roads, as well as their space syntax metrics and living structures. The practical demos are implemented in ArcGIS Pro 3.0 with the Axwoman 7.0 Extension (beta version). This tool supports the generations of both axial lines and natural streets, as well as their space syntax analysis and head/tail breaks mapping.
