The original comic story of VirusMan was created in late 1999 by Robin Drinkall. However, at that moment in time, the story was written without the added benefit of any visual material. The idea was to create a superhero who lived on the internet, had the ability to interact with children and call them up to provide education and motivation as part of a new technological dot.com start-up company. The internet and a dedicated website were intended to be the communication platform with the added feature of a pro-active interactive voice response technology to be used for the interaction between VirusMan and subscribers. Funding of the idea was agreed in the Summer of 2000 and offices were opened in August at the Technological Institute on the outskirts of Copenhagen in Denmark

Jyllands Posten 11 October 2000 - Public information on the creation of VirusMan Aps
Jyllands Posten 13 December 2000 - Public information on the name change from VirusMan Aps to Wecarefamily Aps. The journalist also reported that the word "Virus" was negative and the new name "Wecarefamily" will be positive.
BT Avis 28 December 2001 - Follow-up article from 11 May 2001 by Jo Brand on the IT system developed for helping people with medicine. The December article includes a new separate smaller article on "VirusMan".
