Virtual Stroll Across Europe is a three-year KA2 project led by the teachers of Klasična gimnazija Zagreb, Croatia. Partnership schools are from Bulgaria, Greece and Spain and the project is intended for high school students (15-18 years old) and their teachers.
The main goal of the project is the creation of an interactive map of the partnership schools’ cities. Eight short videos about the cultural heritage of each of the cities will be implemented into the map. The map will be integrated into the Google Maps platform. In addition to the interactive map and video materials, the project will create online video lessons for the education of students and teachers.
Planned Activities
4 joint staff meetings, one in each partnership country
4 student mobilities, one in each partnership country – with the goal of making videos
Online check-up meetings before each project activity
Final conferences in each partnership country
Main Goals
As part of the project, high-quality digital publicly available materials, i.e. educational resources, will be created, which can be used in classical and distance learning in subjects such as English, History, Geography, Literature, etc. Participants will design the content, write synopses, and record videos which will present their city or the city where they are on exchange.
The project will encourage its participants to explore their own heritage and the heritage of other participating countries who will design, create and publicly share video materials on the Google Maps platform. The participanst will present cultural, historical, geographical, and other selected sights of their city with video materials lasting up to three minutes in English. In the same way, it will represent the connections between European cities and cultures, thus developing cross-cultural awareness and awareness of European citizenship. For example, participants will explore the cultural connections between Zagreb and their city and will record materials in selected places in Zagreb that represent the connection between the two cities.
This project will strengthen the key competencies of students and teachers, such as interdisciplinary cooperation and innovative approaches to education. By preparing content in a foreign (English) language and communicating with students from other countries, students will develop their language competences and gain international learning experiences.
