Project Leaders Needed
4-H volunteers have so much knowledge and talents to share with 4-H members. Let's work together to offer our youth more countywide 4-H projects. 4-H project leaders will work with 4-H staff to offer a minimum of 6 hours to work on projects. 4-H staff will advertise, handle sign-ups, communications, collect fees and gather the needed supplies. I will use this google form to help plan next year's countywide projects and will be reaching out to you soon.
The deadline for turning in 4-H report form is September 19. Remember that these are for all projects not just livestock, you can turn them in for all 4-H projects.
Two St. François County 4-H members were camp counselors for Aerospace Camp at Missouri S & T. Aerospace camp is a part of a series of camps MS&T puts and host kids from all over the country. This is the only camp in the series that Missouri 4-H supplies the curriculum and educational activities. This was a new experience but I hope to make it an annual trip for our county's teens.
St. Francois County was a big part of Show Me STEM Day at the Missouri State Fair. There was a good turn out and all of our STEM activities were put to good use. If club leaders would like to use some of our STEM supplies just contact the office and we can talk about what is available.
4-H was once again asked to host Stanford Spokes. This is a project where 7 Stanford students are riding bicycles from California to Washington D.C. teaching kids about STEM all along the way. We had a great turn out and the kids learned a lot.
