Hello everyone!
This is my second year as the School Based Therapist for the Grandview Elementary Schools. I was born in Carbondale, KS, went to School at Pittsburg State University where I met my husband, before moving to Kansas City to finish my bachelors at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I then went on and received my Master of Arts in Counseling-Clinical and Mental Health at Webster University. Currently I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and will be under supervision for another year before gaining my full License as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). My passion is to work with children and adolescents to offer any support, encouragement and direction in a therapeutic setting that is engaging and comfortable. I utilize a variety of techniques to help children and their families cope with challenges such as grief, anxiety, relationship and parenting issues, ADHD, depression, school problems and emotional or behavioral issues. I love to incorporate play therapy and art therapy for children, as it is a great way for children to express their thoughts and feelings.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my husband and our 2 children; a boy that is 7 and a girl that is 2. We love to travel and especially love going to Zoos and learning about animals. My family and I are huge Chiefs fans and will spend time together playing board games, video games, reading, watching movies, and doing art and crafts. Our family dream and current goal that we are working towards is to go to Disney World in 2023!
I look forward to meeting you and your family.
