Remember... your signs must include the following:

  • An image, drawing, rubbing, etc. of overall tree, tree leaves, and tree bark

  • The common and scientific name of the tree*

  • The diameter at breast height (DBH) measurement (see Step 2)

  • Calculation results from National Tree Benefits Calculator (see Step 2)

  • At least one additional fact about your tree

*If you explore all three options for trying to identify your tree, but are still unable to determine the tree species you have, try to narrow it down (i.e. oak tree, pine tree, etc.) You can get creative with the name if you are unable to identify.
