This collection of online professional development opportunities was created by Virginia art educators for art educators everywhere in the age of COVID-19. Many Virginia school divisions will be starting the 2020-2021 school year with all-virtual instruction, others will take a hybrid approach, and all need to be prepared for school closures as the pandemic continues to keep us guessing. The PD provided here is meant to support art teachers in planning and presenting high quality art instruction through virtual and hybrid instruction. With Virtual Learning in Art as the theme, educators were invited to provided content in these three categories:
Virtual Learning Platforms: online tools, learning management systems, creating and managing instructional videos, platforms for online student art exhibitions
Virtual Learning Content: development, sharing, and/or organization of digital resources and lessons; integrating virtual museum tours and guest speakers with virtual learning; feedback and assessment
Learner Centered Virtual Environment: Setting up a home or virtual classroom; digital citizenship, online classroom management; student participation; equity & differentiation with distance learning
On the following pages you can Get Learning - connect directly to this collection of free learning opportunities, Get Involved - find information on how you can share your own content to be included here, and Get Credit - download a letter that you may present to your administrator to request recertification points for your learning.
