The first version of VirtualDJ appeared on 1 July 2003. VirtualDJ is the successor to AtomixMP3, the first version of which dates from September 2000. The development of AtomixMP3 stopped in December 2003 as soon as its successor VirtualDJ was marketed. VirtualDJ existed in three different versions until 2009: Home Edition (sold in stores), PRO (only available online), and Limited Version (free with certain MIDI controllers). In late 2009, a new version called VirtualDJ Basic went on sale as a budget-friendly alternative to VirtualDJ Pro, without MIDI control. Since October 2010, the range of products is available in 4 offers: Pro Full (the full version), Pro Basic , Broadcaster and Home FREE .
Also in 2010, VirtualDJ won the prize for best mixing software at the 25th edition of the Annual International Dance Music Awards in Miami.
VirtualDJ is the most downloaded DJ software on earth and has been around for more than 20 years, and has been downloaded by more than 111,000,000 people. It is used daily by millions of DJs all around the world. Filled with all the latest technology, VirtualDJ will help you take your DJing skills to the next level. Virtual DJ is a complex mixing audio and video software that is in continuous change and upgrade. The latest version has multi-touch features built-in. You can download the latest version HERE (free license for personal use).
The software has a default layout made of two turntables (vinyl or CD) associated with a central mixer. It includes a bar for viewing the status of the two audio tracks as well as the management of the playlist and of current readings with a search function in the database. The current track of the different decks appears in a graphical window at the top of the screen which visualizes the curve (waveform) of the live sound. The user can also perform loops of variable duration. As a professional DJ software, Virtual DJ allows users to plug in their DJ controllers. It also works with custom DJ systems built by users and it recognizes any different hardware turntable or mixer.
In order to quickly get started and begin using VirtualDJ, there are a few simple steps that you need to take. The following sections will walk you through installation and running the software for the first time:
STEP 1 - INSTALL VIRTUAL DJ SOFTWARE
(IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT IN YOUR COMPUTER)
To get started with VirtualDJ, you will first need to visit the download page on the website and download the free version for personal use (windows or mac): https://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html

Opening Virtual DJ for the first time
Simply double click on the VirtualDJ icon on the desktop to open the software. On first launch a Login window will appear on top of the VirtualDJ Interface. You can skip the login by just closing the window.
If you want, you can login using Facebook, your Microsoft ID, WeChat account, Google account, or Username (email) and the password of your current virtualdj.com account if you have one.
The interfaces from this websites are my own designs and they don't come with the VirtualDJ software, that is why you need to install the software first, and after that paste the interface (unzip the file) that you purchased, into your PC.
STEP 2 - Click on buy now button - that will lead you to payhip.com website into GeoDigiStore, where you can buy the skins.
STEP 3- UNZIP the downloaded file, COPY & PASTE (the folders) into VIRTUAL DJ software
Now, to install the interfaces (that you purchased) into the Virtual DJ software, you have to unzip the file and paste the folder into: AppData/Local/VirtualDJ/Skins from your PC. It works only If you have Windows 10 or 11.
STEP 4- Launch the interface.
After that, to launch the interface , you need to go to settings > interface > VDJ TurnTouch III, or any of them.
...You can find more button functions on the home page skin photos
Now you are ready to start play and mix music. Click on browser button and load some songs. Only one thing is missing: the head-phones.
Before start mixing you will need to connect a USB sound card for the head-phones, or you can mix without them and without soundcard :)
If you want to monitor the music you will need to connect head-phones in order to monitor the music like any DJ does. So for this you need an external USB sound card and a pair of good DJ head-phones of course.
Insert the head-phones into the stereo jack from the sound card. After that go to "settings" - up - right corner and set up the sound like it is in the picture below. That's all.
The rest of the buttons are the same as from any DJ mixer and so I will not cover here and I will let you explore the complete user manual that you can find here on virtual dj website:
Enjoy mixing on touch screen!

You can use the interfaces on more than one computer, but do not resell.
