My philosophy of education is in line with those identified in "Philosophical Foundations of Education."
The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.
We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Welcome! My name is Dr. Vincent Wiggins, and I’m honored you’re here.
At the heart of everything I do is one simple belief: education should help people grow—not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and personally. I am deeply committed to holistic education and the intentional work of helping individuals build emotional stability, self-awareness, and confidence in their ability to navigate life, relationships, and learning.
My work focuses on creating safe, inclusive spaces where learners can thrive—whether that’s in adult learning, higher education, or intergenerational experiences that bring people together across age groups and backgrounds. I believe learning happens best when people feel supported, respected, and seen.
Professionally, I currently serve as the Director of the Center for Faculty Development & Excellence at Southern California University of Health Sciences, where I work with faculty to strengthen teaching, learning, and student success through innovative strategies and meaningful professional development. I also serve as an Associate Editor with American Scholars Press (ASP), supporting scholarly work and peer-reviewed publishing that contributes to the field of education.
In addition to my leadership roles, I’m also a writer and creator. I’ve had the privilege of developing content across multiple areas, including:
Children’s books focused on inclusion and belonging
Emotional stability and emotional awareness books and journals
Instructional technology books and guides
Peer-reviewed journal publications that explore teaching, learning, and educational impact
I’m also proud to be the Co-Founder of Small Bytes, Inc., an organization created to empower adults—especially individuals age 50 and older—through lifelong learning, technology confidence, and accessible tools that support personal and professional goals. Through Small Bytes, I help make technology feel less intimidating and more empowering, one tip at a time.
Another important part of my work includes my passion for emotional wellness through Unpacking Emotional Baggage, where I help individuals explore emotional awareness and develop the tools needed to process life experiences in healthy, productive ways. This work reflects my belief that emotional wellness is not optional—it’s essential.
Whether I’m teaching, writing, coaching, presenting, or building educational resources, my purpose remains the same: to help people learn with intention, live with stability, and lead with compassion.
Thank you for stopping by and being part of this journey. I look forward to connecting with you and continuing to build spaces where learning and emotional growth truly go hand in hand.
