The initial design for the cut was made in AutoCAD making sure I kept the metal parts as one whole shape and made sure that the air parts would cut out properly
The design was then moved over to fusion 360 where I created the toolpath for the plasma cutter to follow and downloaded as G-code
I then loaded up the G-code into the computer controlling the plasma cutter and begin to cut out the design into steel
After the cut was finished there was a lot of slag left around the edges of the cut out design so I attempted to chisel it off, This had varying success and did cause some of the thin metal bits to deform.
After letting the piece go through some natural rusting I ended up with a product that I'm happy with and achieved my goal of creating a sign for a mining company that has since been abandoned.
