Edoardo Lamon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science (DISI) at Università di Trento. From 2021 he acted as researcher of the Human-Robot Interfaces and Interaction at the IIT, Genoa, Italy. He received the Ph.D. degree cum laude in 2021 from the University of Pisa, Italy. His PhD thesis was awarded as finalist for the best European thesis in robotics, the Georges Giralt PhD Award in 2021. His research focuses on combining a human-centric approach to robotic operations with artificial intelligence, with the aim of boosting robotics in everyday life, with applications ranging from medical to industrial settings. His interests lie in human-robot collaboration, AI, robot control and learning.
Angela Faragasso is the prospective Lead of Research Engineer at FingerVision, specializing in vision-based sensing for robotics and automation. She began her research at La Sapienza, University of Rome, and furthered her expertise at Texas A&M University and King’s College London. Angela has held positions at the University of Tokyo as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow and Project Assistant Professor. She is also co-chair of the IEEE TC-PEBRAS and an associate chair in the IEEE Automation Cluster.
Matteo Saveriano is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DII), University of Trento. Before, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Innsbruck and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). He received a Ph.D. degree cum laude in 2017 from the Technical University of Munich, Germany. He is an Associate Editor for RA-L and IJRR. He is the coordinator of the EU HE project INVERSE. His research focuses on robot learning, human-robot interaction, and the understanding and interpretation of human activities.
Fares J. Abu-Dakka received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Birzeit University, Palestine (2003), and advanced degrees (DEA and PhD) in robotics motion planning from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain (2006, 2011), in addition to M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from UPV (2015). His postdoctoral journey began at the Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia, in 2012. From 2013 to 2016, he was a Visiting Professor at Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain, followed by a postdoctoral role at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) from 2016 to 2019. He was a Research Fellow at Aalto University (2019-2022) before joining the Technical University of Munich as a Senior Scientist in 2022, where he led the Robot Learning group at MIRMI. Then he was a Lecturer and Researcher at Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Spain. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at New York University Abu Dhabi. His research spans control theory, differential geometry, and machine learning, with a focus on improving robot manipulation performance and safety. He also serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L) and IEEE Transactions on Robotics (T-RO).
