A Teacher Appreciation Story that Inspires - Sometimes, it takes a life-changing event to spur people to action. Dr. Lee Buono, a neurosurgeon from Medford, Burlington County, was encouraged by one of his patients to thank Albert Siedlecki, the teacher who inspired him to become a neurosurgeon. In the 1980s, Mr. Siedlecki taught Dr. Buono how to dissect a frogs brain. Nearly 20 years later, Dr. Buono is saving lives. Watch their story. (5:33)

Carol Dweck & The Study on Praise/Mindset - For over a decade Carol Dweck and her team studied the effects of praise on students. This study involved a series of experiments on over 400 5th graders from all over the country. (4:51)

Communication - This is a fabulous video, using Siri, to show adults what it is like for many of our students with processing disorders and special needs. It is short and to the point but clearly relatable! Understood.org produced this and others with the same message. (1:02)

Did You Know - 2028? What will the world of 2028 look like? This is a question St Paul's School has been asking as it explores what a rapidly changing world will be like when it's youngest students reach their final year of education. Research revealed many trends, but two critical uncertainties which could significantly impact schooling as we know it today. These uncertainties were used to develop four scenarios, describing possible futures for our youngest students. (3:15)

Engaging Students with Problem Solving Challenges - Special correspondent John Tulenko of Leaning Matters reports on a public middle school in Portland, Maine that is taking a different approach to teaching students. Teachers have swapped traditional curriculum for an unusually comprehensive science curriculum that emphasizes problem-solving, with a little help from some robots. Female Soccer Player - In November 2015, President Barack Obama said “playing like a girl means you’re a badass.” El Hormiguero, a Spanish talk show, set out to prove as much and help dispel stereotypes about women’s soccer. “Men and women playing football can perform at the same level,” says the announcer. The show enlisted professional soccer player Brenda Perez and disguised her as a man with a seven-hour make-up session. With a facial prosthetic, beard and wig, 21-year-old Brenda became “Dani Perez” and joined in on a non-league men’s game in Madrid. (0:59)
