PadCode is a code editor built for iPad, with a live, interactive preview right beside your code. Change a color, add a button, or rename a label, and the preview updates instantly. Tap the buttons, flip the toggles, drag the sliders: your interface works while you're still writing it.

TEST ON A SECOND IPAD
Open PadCode on another iPad on the same Wi-Fi and choose Player Mode. Your preview appears there live, and every tap and toggle flows back to the iPad you're coding on.

WHAT PADCODE PREVIEWS
PadCode runs your SwiftUI through a built-in interpreter, so there's nothing to compile. It understands a broad and growing set of Swift and SwiftUI: stacks, lists, forms, grids, navigation, tabs, sheets, and alerts; @State, @Binding, @Observable, @Environment, and @AppStorage; structs, enums, extensions, closures, loops, and more. Code it doesn't understand yet shows a placeholder instead of breaking the preview. PadCode focuses on SwiftUI, so UIKit views and third-party packages aren't previewed. To build and publish an app, open your project in Xcode on a Mac.

Privacy Policy
PadCode is an iPad app for writing Swift and SwiftUI, made by Batterie Productions. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
PadCode doesn’t collect any personal information. There are no accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking, and the app contains no third-party code that collects data. We never see your code.
Your projects are stored on your iPad, inside PadCode. If you open or create a project in a folder you pick in the Files app, such as iCloud Drive, PadCode reads and saves files in that folder. Apple, or whoever provides that folder, stores and syncs those files under its own privacy policy. We never receive a copy.
Player Mode shows your live preview on another iPad on the same Wi-Fi network. The two iPads connect directly to each other, so your preview and your taps travel only between them and never reach us or any server. iPadOS asks before PadCode uses your local network, and you can turn that off in Settings under Privacy & Security > Local Network.
If your code loads an image from a web address, for example with AsyncImage, your iPad downloads it directly from that website. Like any website, it may see standard information such as your IP address. Links in your code open in Safari. None of this passes through us.
If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. They don’t identify you or include your code. You can turn this off in Settings under Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Because we don’t collect your data, there’s nothing for us to delete. Deleting PadCode removes everything it stores on your iPad. Projects saved in your own folders stay there until you delete them.
