Hi, I'm having issues with my samsung SE-506cb bluray player, sometimes it would disconnect while it loads up the disc or it would disconnect randomly while watching a movie or series. At first I did have these problems while watching a series but it eventually stopped up until now.

Hi @Andrew20, issues were previously reported with this Blu Ray player/Writer and some customers had problems with Windows 10 devices, are you using Windows 10 on the affected device? However some users reported that using a USB 3.0 cable solved the issue, know you have already tried a split cable.

Yes I am on windows 10, sadly my computer does not have any USB 3.0 slots(as far as I know), I'm currently using Cyberlink Power DVD12 as it came with the bluray player. I'll try out these last few cables and see if the problem continues, if it does I'll might have to get a different bluray player.

When I'm in video player trying to fast forward and Rewind (drag my finger left to right), it keeps going into image clipping mode. It is very annoying. Is there a setting to disable image clipping during video playback?

I have a TU700D 50 inch TV. Connected are a Bose Smart Soundbar 600 in HDMI 1 and an older Sony blu ray player in HDMI2. When I exit the last app playing on the TV, it's automatically switching to HDMI2 and powering on the blu ray player. Needless to say, this is an annoyance. I can't find a thing in the TV's settings to stop this. Anyone else seen something like this with a blu ray or maybe even a video game?

What can I do to have this media player user interface (or similar) on my TV? I know I can connect the hard drive (via USB) to the TV, and I can actually play most of the files. However the files / folders are displayed in a horrible user interface (or lack of one) format that is hard to use, i.e. only part of the folder/file names are displayed. And it does not let me 'drill down" to many of the sub folders.

Any suggestions?

WD TV Live HD Media Player works on all TVs having HDMI port and USB port. It also work on Samsung Smart TV. As it is showing only WD screen without any data files, you may try to check after reset of WD Media player device.

The pop-up player from Video Assistant in Samsung Internet is an android UI-based video player using Android Media Framework. The URL of the video content is required to launch the pop-up player. Currently, videojs, youtube, and other notable websites use the MSE video type, not containing a video URL.

To allow support for the pop-up video player, you will need to provide the video URL; in other words, you can not use videos of MSE type. Even if the video assistant introduced support for MSE video types, it would not work when you close/minimize/open a tab. For example, you may use HTML5 video type to add support for the video assistant on your website.

The audible player does not show up on the lock screen anymore. New update for samsung just came out in march. Trying to find out how to disable the default samsung player. It is blocking the audible widget from displaying on the lock screen. The previous answer to this annoying situation was the face widget option. The "face widget" option has been removed from lock screen options list.

I've just gone on to my gallery to watch a saved video. I clicked play, and it just started playing the video. No sound, but there is a timer and a play button, and when I can pause it too. But it's done in the gallery? And I have to click on the 3 dots and manually open through video player?

Our Netgear 6300 router stopped working so we replaced it with a new Netgear 6300v2. Our Samsung Bluray player (BP-P1600) is still trying to access the old router and I am unable to change it to the new one. The old router is the only one that shows up under Access Point in the Bluray network settings. When I select it, a "Cannot find access point" message pops up and there are no options for changing it. Samsung customer support was unable to help. Tried resetting both the router and the bluray player and still only the address for the old router shows up in the Access Point field. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your response. Both are different. I did get the new router to show up as an available Access Point by removing and reinserting the Wireless LAN adapter from the back of the DVD player (to correct a typo in my original message, the model is BD-P1600), but still cannot get it to work. I have tried entering the security code in each authentication mode (Open, WEP, WPAPSK, WPA2PSK) and get a message that the network cannot be accessed. It doesn't say why, just that it cannot. Very frustrating. Would welcome any suggestions you might have about that.

Hi guys, I have a new Macbook pro so it does not have a built in CD reader. I just went to target and purchased a Samsung DVD player that I as planning on hooking up to my computer using an HDMI cord. I opened the DVD app on the computer but nothing is happening. Any suggestions?

I do not have HTTP / HTTPS scanning on. My older Blu-Ray players 3 plus years old with Netflix work just fine. I am guessing that the Samaung unit needs to talk to a NTP server and sync it's time with before it will stream the Netflix or the others. Any suggestions or has anyone else experienced this with a Samsung blu-ray player streaming Netflix / YouTube, Prime? I do see many people seem to experience this issue with the units, but not seen a sure fix offered in the post for that. All I can see if something about the NTP time sync.

Why this device needs to sync with time when it does not display a time or anything on screen related to time is a mystery. My tow older other brand players don't care or must not use NTP and work fine. Ideas, suggestions?

One think I might try is to crimp a really long Ethernet cable to go from my DSL modem directly to the Blu-ray player and see if it will get and updated it's time, and then if things play, plug it back into my normal LAN passing through XG. Next question is if the thing does a NTP every time you click on a streaming service or not. I am using AT&T DSL Internet (Uverse service, and no I am not lucky to have the fiber to the house, but it is over copper) I was told I could have up to 6 devices on the modem, so I am guessing have up to 6 I.P. addresses? Anyway, glad the TV has two HDMI inputs, Use the old Blu-ray to stream Netflix, and the Samsung to play DVD's since the DVD drive on the old unit stopped working. Miss not having YouTube and Prime.

The Galaxy Player 50 (not to be confused with Galaxy Player 5.0) was the first Samsung Android-based media player, announced at the 2010 IFA and released early 2011. It features a 3.2 inch 400 x 240 pixels TFT-LCD display, 8 or 16GB internal memory, a microSDHC slot, 1000mAh battery, Bluetooth 3.0, RDS FM tuner and 2 MP rear camera. It runs on Android 2.1 Eclair.

I work for city government and we have an issue viewing our city meetings through a government portal that needs flash to play on our digital signage smart TV's. and for the same reason, our own government content cannot be played in our city hall. ( we have a digital signage workaround in place but it is going to cost alot for the players and licensing).

I understand this issue is because of the browser that comes with Samsung smart TV's, but isn't it possible to build a player enabled app for smart TV's? Adobe is pretty crafty and I am sure you have a couple good programmers who could lead the charge on this! (and quite possibly corner the smart TV browser market!)

You don't need adobe flash for the samsung... go to the apps and activate the app you want to view such as hbogo. You will get a pin but you have to enter the hbogo activation website through your computer while you have the tv pin on the screen, once activated in this manner you will be able to view the shows without adobe flash player

I think the OP is trying to watch a feed through a website in the samsung smart TV browser. for embedded video, you need adobe flash player (or other player, like quicktime) to view the videos but the browser that currently comes with the TV cannot support flash because it is a computer program and not something that can be installed into the browser APP like an extension on a computer...

Samsung Electronics today announced that its Hybrid broadcast broadband TV (HbbTV) media player will be available as an open source project named HbbPlayer on github, an open source developer community. This will enable broadcasters and application developers who are writing HbbTV applications to test and validate them on a platform which can be implemented on any HbbTV 1.5-compliant TV.

To connect your Samsung TV, projector, Blu-ray player, or home theater system to your Netflix account, make sure you are on the Home screen and select the option below that best describes your device.
