anyone else having issues with firefox randomly breaking lately? all of a sudden over the last few months ive been having these same issues where firefox will just start butchering things. Twitch is probably the worst. all the time i just randomly lose the ability to do anything. most of the time a quick exit will fix it. sometimes i need to reinstall. i dont have any add-ons since the last reinstall.

Also, remember, Reddit is a tiny picture in the grand scale of things. Just because a couple of people hate the Firefox UI redesign on reddit doesn't mean every Firefox user does. There are still several non techie people who won't mind the UI redesign. The decline in marketshare is not because people actively hate Firefox, it's because of pre bundled web browsers - Edge on Windows, Chrome on Android and chromeOS, Safari on iOS and macOS. Only Linux distributions pre bundle Firefox. Considering how niche they are, you are unlikely to see a rise in Firefox marketshare. Firefox's marketshare isn't dipping due to a couple of Redditors saying they hate, it's due to not being a default browser.

My computer ran into trouble recently and I started over fresh, reinstalled everything. For some reason every 12 hours or so, or whenever I start up firefox after turning my PC back on, I get this weird pop up notifying me about a post on some subreddit, some I'm not even subscribed to. What the hell are these and now do I get rid of them?

Tab grouping is a feature that ive used on google chrome where you can hide tabs in a neat and organized group, and i really wish it was on firefox. Is there any extension that can add this feature?

It seems like I cannot log into reddit on Firefox currently. Says in correct username and/or password, with the red outline on username. Changed password first and not working. Works on Chrome currently, at least. Tried to disable uBlock Origin for a second on Firefox if it was that, but no. Chrome has uBlock on too. This is on PC.

So, recently when I bought my new laptop, I completely switched to firefox from chrome after using it for the last 10+ years. Now, its working really good. But still, I would like to see your recommendations as to stay on firefox or switch to some other and with solid reasons for each and why should I stay on it or switch from it. The ram usage is a lil bit concerning but other tan that firefox is amazing. Also, I would love some recommendations or tweaks for a better browsing experience on firefox.

I have installed and I use firefox myself, and have done so done for a while, but I can't tell why. Why are you using it? Maybe I can find some reason why I'm using it too if I get some examples??

After so much of hearing that Firefox is the best option I decided to switch to it after years of using chrome and more recently edge. However my experience has been less than ideal especially with reddit. Pasting text into a comment either refreshes the page, losing my entire comment, or just completely breaks the comment box. I looked it up online and apparently this is an issue that has been going on for a long time without actual fixes.

Firefox keeps logging me out of google. Everything works, all my saved passwords, auto login, facebook, messenger, reddit, etc. except for google. I use gmail, drive and google docs quite a lot and I just can't force myself with the google 2FA everytime I re-open my browser. Creating new user doesn't help, nor changing the cookies/privacy settings. It is only google that logs me out.

hello, i've been using Firefox for a while now and i really love it! my laptop is quite slow though, so i looked up ways you could improve performance for Firefox. i found this version called Firefox Quantum and it changes performance drastically according to developers. I wasn't sure which one was the latest version of Firefox Quantum among all the updates, so i did some digging, and i read off a reply on another post on this subreddit and apparently the new overhaul is used in every version since the introduction of FFQ. Is that true? If not, could you tell what's the latest version of Firefox Quantum?

Previously you could see pages load, now they just appear when you click on them (provided the server is fast enough ofc, reddit is slow naturally). It's especially noticeable on YT, where videos start playing instantly (much faster than Chrome actually):

Like many others, I've been pushed into the new mobile UI test tonight. Surprise, Surprise! But unfortunately for me, the website is literally unusable. I am unable to scroll down through comments while posts are opened. The page just stays frozen at the top of the page. This also occurs about 50% of the time on the front page/subreddit feeds.

I tried new.reddit.com, but posts get squished down to about half the width of the screen. Ironically, the only method I have to use Reddit on Mobile with any reliability in my browser is old.reddit.com.

Title. I want to switch to firefox. Chrome has been giving me too many issues now, one of them being a bug where ALL of my saved bookmarks and stuff are tied to a fkn guest account now for some reason. That shit is annoying to me. So I figured since firefox gets a lot of praise; I'd give it a shot My issue is transferring everything or getting the most optimized experience with the browser. I'd hate to go right in and not even know the tips and tricks that you guys know. I also have a bad memory, which is why I have bookmarks and I would very much like to keep them.

At first I thought this was something to do with X-Mouse Button Control (turning on scroll lock disables the software and I had firefox specific changes), but after I turned it off for firefox it still didn't work.

After that I cleared the cache which didn't do anything, disabled hardware acceleration which also didn't do anything, restated in safe mode and then it stared working again.

After that I disabled all my extensions which didn't do anything, then I refreshed firefox which again didn't do anything and as my last resort I reinstalled firefox which also didn't help (I unselected Keep previous settings).

When you install FireFox, you are automatically given a default profile. You may want to create additional profiles, for example ones dedicated work or school, so that you can sign into different services and customize your settings for those purposes. I personally use a personal profile as my default, which is signed into all of my social media accounts (such as reddit), my personal email account, and has my personal bookmarks and browsing history. Additionally, I also have a work profile which isn't signed into anything except my work accounts, my work email, and has only extensions and browsing history related to my work.

In the dialogue, type the following "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -new-instance -P "work", replace work with whatever profile you want to use and C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe with the path to your FireFox app, if it's different (it probably won't be). e24fc04721
