Open the app and tap to pick a video, choose a compression level (small size, balanced, or high quality) or a target resolution, then compare the before/after preview and tap Save or Share. Everything runs on your device.
Saved videos go to your device's photo library, and the app keeps a list of your recent results so you can re-share them. Your original video is never modified or deleted — the compressed copy is a new file.
No. All processing (compression, trimming, conversion, GIF, audio extraction) happens entirely on your device. Your videos and photos are never uploaded to any server. See our Privacy Policy for details.
MP4, MKV, MOV and AVI, up to Full HD 1080p and 4K. Output is MP4 unless you pick a different format in the converter.
No. VidCompress never adds a watermark to your videos. The watermark tool is optional and only adds a logo or text if you choose to.
Compression trades quality for size, so a very aggressive level on an already-compressed video can look soft. Try a higher-quality preset, or lower the resolution instead of the quality. If a video was already heavily compressed, re-compressing it can occasionally produce a larger file — in that case keep the original.
Very large or 4K videos need free storage roughly equal to the original file size while processing. Free up space, keep the app in the foreground, and try again. If it still fails, email us the video's format, length and size.

VidCompress is free and supported by ads through Google AdMob. You can change your advertising consent at any time from Settings → Manage ad privacy in the app. On iOS you can also withdraw tracking permission under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
