Last updated: May 25, 2025
At VidBr, your privacy is extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy has been created to inform you about how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our app. By using VidBr, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Registration Information
When registering on VidBr, we collect the following personal information:
Email: Required to create and manage your account. This email will be used to send notifications, account-related information, and to reset your password if necessary. We guarantee that we will not share your email with third parties without your explicit consent.
Password: Used to protect your account and authenticate your access. The security of your password is essential; we recommend choosing a strong and unique password. We do not store your password in plain text, but in an encrypted format.
Real Name: Optional, but useful for personalizing your in-app experience. This name may be visible to other users and can facilitate interaction. You can choose not to provide this information, but doing so may limit profile customization.
Username: When registering on VidBr, we generate a random username based on your real name to ensure it is unique and representative of your identity in the app. This username will be visible to other users and used in interactions such as comments and messages. You have the option to modify your username at any time in the "Edit Profile" section.
Date of Birth: We collect this information to ensure that you are at least 13 years old, in compliance with online child protection laws. If you are under 13, you should not create an account. If we become aware that we have collected information from a user under the age of 13, we will take the necessary steps to delete that information.
Bio: A short description about yourself, which can be viewed by other users. You can use this space to share information about your interests, hobbies, or anything else you'd like.
Authentication via Google Play Services: We use Google Play Services to authenticate your account on VidBr, ensuring a secure and efficient login experience. When registering or logging in, you may choose to use your Google account to simplify the authentication process. Google Play Services allows us to verify the user's identity and ensure secure access to the app. The necessary information for this process, such as your Google name and email, is collected securely and not shared with third parties without your explicit consent. For more details, please refer to https://policies.google.com/privacy.
1.2 Message Data
We collect information related to the messages you send and receive, such as:
Message Content: This includes the text of messages exchanged with other users, allowing you to communicate effectively.
Time and Date: We log when messages are sent or received to enhance the messaging experience and provide features like conversation history. This data helps ensure you can access previous conversations.
1.3 Log Data
This data helps us understand how the app is used and includes information such as:
Device Information: Type of device, operating system, app version, and other technical details. This allows us to optimize the user experience and ensure compatibility.
App Usage: Pages visited, time spent in each section, clicks, and other interactions. This information is valuable for identifying and fixing bugs and improving the app’s performance. We use this data to understand which features are most popular and how we can enhance usability.
1.4 Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your interaction with the app, improve your user experience, personalize content and ads, measure performance, and conduct analyses.
Cookie Consent: When you use the app for the first time, we will request your explicit consent for the use of cookies and tracking technologies, as required by local laws, including the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Personalized Advertising: We work with advertising networks, such as Google AdMob, which may use cookies to deliver personalized ads based on your interests and browsing activities.
If you wish, you can disable ad personalization directly through Google settings at the following link: [Google Ads Settings].
For more information on how we collect, use, and protect your data, please refer to our [Privacy Policy].
1.4.1 Local Data Storage (SharedPreferences)
We use SharedPreferences to locally store data related to your use of the app. This includes your search history — such as the terms you've searched for — to enhance and streamline your future interactions with the app. We also use SharedPreferences to record important information for the app’s functionality, such as the time of the last ad display to control ad frequency, and data needed to show prompts asking for your app rating.
All information stored through SharedPreferences is private, used exclusively by the app, and is not shared with third parties, except as described in this Privacy Policy. You can choose to clear your search history at any time.
1.4.2 Cache Storage
In addition to using cookies and similar technologies, VidBr may also store temporary data in cache to optimize app performance. This data may include information related to your app usage, such as watched videos, content preferences, and browsing history. Cache storage helps improve loading speed and the overall efficiency of the app.
However, VidBr does not provide a specific option for users to manually clear the cache within the app settings. Cached data is automatically managed by the device’s system and can be deleted by the user through the device settings, if desired.
Please note that clearing the cache may affect your app experience, as some temporary data will need to be reloaded, which may result in longer loading times for certain features.
1.5 Location Information
We collect information about your country to personalize your experience on VidBr, allowing you to view relevant videos based on your geographic location. This information helps us deliver content that is more interesting and appropriate for you.
Location information is automatically collected from your device, and we ensure that we will not share your country with third parties without your explicit consent.
1.6 Temporary Data Storage
During the registration process on VidBr, we temporarily store your email, password, date of birth, and name. This data is used solely for the signup process and does not result in the immediate creation of your account. After completing the necessary steps, this data will be used to create your account, ensuring that you can proceed with the app's features securely. The information will not be used for any other purpose and will be treated with complete confidentiality.
1.7 Profile Picture Visibility
Users can view the profile pictures of other users on VidBr. These pictures are considered public information within the app and can be accessed by any user. By setting your profile picture, you agree that this image will be visible to other users and may be used in interactions, such as comments and messages. We recommend that you choose a photo that adheres to community guidelines and does not contain inappropriate content.
1.8 NSFW Content Detection
To maintain a safe environment, VidBr analyzes images and videos on your device using an algorithmic model (TensorFlow Lite) to detect potentially inappropriate content (NSFW - Not Safe For Work). This processing occurs locally (no media is sent to our servers for analysis), and the results are used to:
Flag or block content that violates our Community Guidelines.
Improve the accuracy of automated moderation (anonymous metrics may be collected).
Data Processed: Frames from videos/images (temporarily loaded into memory during analysis).
Results (probability scores for content classification: e.g., "Safe", "NSFW").
Retention: No raw images/videos are stored after analysis.
Anonymous aggregate data (e.g., detection rates) may be retained to improve the model.
2. Use of Information
The information we collect is used for various purposes, including:
Account Management: To create and maintain your account, as well as to ensure secure access to the app. We use your information to verify your identity and protect your account from unauthorized access.
User Interaction: To allow you to like, comment, and share videos, as well as report inappropriate content. This promotes a safe and respectful environment for all users.
Content Posting: To enable you to post videos to your profile and interact through comments and messages. Your content data is used to display your posts and interactions to other users.
Personalized Recommendations: To show videos you might like based on the most recently posted content. The updated algorithm prioritizes newly uploaded videos to keep your experience fresh and up to date.
Message Exchange: To facilitate sending and receiving messages between users, while maintaining a record of interactions. We may use your message data to improve the chat system and ensure you have a smooth experience.
User Following: To allow you to follow other users, making it easier to keep track of their posts and interactions. This feature is essential to creating an engaged community within the app.
Video Title Usage: The title of your video may be used in VidBr's search engine to suggest your video to other users, helping improve the visibility and reach of your content. The video title will be indexed and may be associated with related keywords, making it easier for your video to be found by other users with similar interests.
Performance Improvement: To use log data to troubleshoot technical issues and improve the user experience, such as loading times and app usability. Usage data is regularly analyzed to identify areas for improvement.
Text Copying: To allow you to copy text from comments, bios, and other parts of the app, making it easier to interact with other users.
Push Notifications and Cloud Messaging: We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) exclusively to send push notifications related to messages sent within the app. This allows you to receive notifications about new messages in real time. These notifications are sent directly to your device and can be managed in the device settings.
Use of Firebase for Essential Functionality: VidBr uses Firebase, a Google app development platform, to provide essential functionalities such as user authentication, data storage, notifications, and syncing content across devices. These services allow the app to operate efficiently, securely, and seamlessly, improving the user experience. Data collection and usage through Firebase are conducted according to https://policies.google.com/privacy. To ensure the full functionality of the app, we request access to the following permissions:

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
25. Data Retention and Deletion Policy (Immediate Deletion)
25.1 Immediate and Permanent Deletion
When you request the deletion of your account on VidBr:
All your personal data (including email, password, name, videos, messages, comments, and activity history) is immediately and irreversibly deleted from our servers once the action is confirmed.
There is no internal retention period — your data is not stored, backed up, or recoverable after deletion.
Important:
The deletion of your account is immediate on our servers.
However, the removal of cached copies from content delivery networks (CDNs), such as Bunny.net, may take up to 24 hours to fully propagate due to the global architecture of CDNs.
During this period:
Your data and content are already inaccessible to all users and to VidBr itself.
VidBr has no manual control over cache purge times — this process is automatic and inherent to CDN technology.
25.2 Technical and Legal Exceptions
CDN Cache Propagation Delay:
When you delete a video or your account, deletion from VidBr’s primary servers is immediate.
Temporary copies that may exist on CDN edge servers are purged within up to 24 hours.
Legal Retention:
In rare cases, we may be required to retain certain information for a longer period to comply with legal obligations (e.g., ongoing investigations).
In such cases, retention will be strictly limited to what is legally required and for the minimum time necessary.
25.3 How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account in two ways:
Within the app: Go to Settings > Account > "Delete My Account" and confirm the deletion.
Via email (optional): Send a request to contato.vidbr@gmail.com with the subject "Immediate Account Deletion."
25.4 Non-Personal Data
Anonymous metrics (such as average video view counts) are not affected by deletion requests, as they cannot identify individual users.
26. Contact
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please contact us:
Email: contato.vidbr@gmail.com
27. Acceptance of the Policy
