Hello! My name is Victor Lundblad and I'm a game designer!
I learned at an early age that making games was something I really wanted to do for a living. I started learning 3D modeling in my early teens but kinda gave up when I encountered problems getting my creations into an actual game. Later, in upper secondary school I studied programming and databases managment. It was a good experience and i learnt a alot but It still didn't feel like I've found my thing. A year after my graduation was when my journey to become a game developer began for real...
It was 2014 and I had just got accepted to the Game Design program The University of Skövde. Two months later I got on a train and traveled about 700 km away from my hometown of Örnsköldsvik towards what was to become my new home for the next three years. At the moment I am still here doing my last year of studies. I still have a thesis to write before I can graduate and get my bachelor's degree, which, if all goes acording to plan, will be completed by June 2017.
I would consider my greatest trait to be my creativeness and my ability to think outside the box. I work very quickly when motivated or inspirated but have a tendency to get stuck and hung up on details sometimes. When that happens I like to take a step back and observe what I'm curently doing or ask someone I know for their opinion. That usually gives me an insight I didn't have before and I can continue in better direction.
My workflow when designing games or levels usually begins with a concept coming from a strong idea or a theme. That concept is then quickly and without scrutiny assembled into a what I feel at the time is the best representation of that game/level, wheter it's a prototype or just a paper design. Through iterative analysis and testing I then chip away and add things along the way to make sure what I'm working on is headed in the right directon until the project is complete.
When it comes to gaming, I play a little bit of everything, from small indie titels to huge AAA games. I am an explorer by heart, therefore I tend get drawn towards open-world games and RPGS - anything by Bethesda or BioWare and every GTA-clone I can get my hands on. I also do enjoy shooter games, third- or first person, preferably with some strategic elements. You can check out my Steam page if you're really courious of what I'm currently playing. I mostly play on the PC as I don't have console anymore, but I also do enjoy a bit of couch co-op with friends from time to time.
In my spare time, when I'm not playing or designing games of course, I enjoy cooking, having a beard, music (playing, writing and listening) or having a beer with my friends. I'm very into heavy metal and rock music in general but also some country and blues stuff. Generally anything with guitars or distortion (preferably both at the same time) is my thing .
I hope this gave you an idea of who I am what I'm all about, if you feel like I left something out or have any questions you can contact me here.
