I am a literary researcher and cultural theorist.
My research focuses on the cultural, artistic, and spiritual encounters between America and East Asia and the subsequent imagining of racial geographies in American literature.
I am a Ph.D. Candidate in English at Duke University, and I am currently writing on the infusion of Japanese culture into one of the most recognizable novels in American history, William Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury. This chapter is part of a larger dissertation titled All Under Heaven: Racial Geographies and Cultural Syncretism in 20th Century American Literature.
