History - Family - Experience - Endorsements
My story, and my family’s story, is deeply woven into the history of this community. My maternal family has called Montgomery home since the mid-1800s, back when it was still a small farming town. Over the years, Sycamore Schools became the heartbeat of our family’s life. My grandparents, my mother and her siblings, a cousin, and I all walked the halls of Montgomery Elementary before graduating from Sycamore High School. Except for my grandmother, who joined the district in high school, every branch of my family tree has grown up in Sycamore Schools from kindergarten through senior year. Four generations of Aviators. Nearly two centuries of family roots in Montgomery and Blue Ash. My life and my family’s have always been grounded in Sycamore’s schools and neighborhoods.
My husband, Don, and I have been married for 25 years, and together we’re raising two wonderful kids, Remington (Class of 2027) and Cooper (Class of 2029). Fun fact: yes, they’re named after the streets! I grew up on Cooper Road, and Don and I were married at The Universalist Church on the corner of Remington and Montgomery. For us, those names aren’t just street signs, they hold memories, history, and a deep connection to this community we love.
Our kids started their Sycamore journey in preschool at just three years old, continued on at Blue Ash Elementary, and are now proud Aviators at Sycamore High School. Like so many families in our district, our home is never dull. We share it with two dogs, two cats, a turtle, and a lively tank of fish. Life is busy, sometimes a little chaotic, but always full of love.
When I’m not volunteering in our schools, I enjoy reading (especially historical nonfiction, mysteries, and the occasional true-crime book), spending time at the theatre, watching classic films, and even indulging in some wonderfully bad reality TV.
