John’s Memorial Unit (JMU) is an ambient healing place offering caring and effective psychology services to children, adolescents, women, men, couples, families and groups in the Western Region of Melbourne and beyond. Help and support is available for a range of mental health conditions and life problems, some of which are eligible for funding under Medicare, NDIS and various programs (see further details in each program listed in the funding section below). As a home based practice, services are available by appointment only.
Psychology services available for children, adolescents, women, men, couples, families and groups offered in house and outreach
Services include counselling, assessment and psychotherapy for a range of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, OCD, post-traumatic stress disorder, BPD, psychosis, suicide prevention and bereavement
Approaches include supportive psychotherapy, crisis intervention, cognitive behaviour therapy, group art therapy, skills training, psycho education, relaxation training, emotional/cognitive and social skills training
Psychology services for self managed and plan managed NDIS participants
NDIS participants can access a psychologist via their Capacity Building funding. The psychologist will invoice the plan manager or you (if self managed) via the NDIS Item Number: 15_054_0128_1_3 – Assessment, Recommendation, Therapy or Training (including Assistive Technology) – Psychology. Capacity building psychology services can help you improve your emotional, cognitive and social skills, community participation and overall mental health and well being in relation to your disability

If you wish to access funding via the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health Care, please see your GP for a mental health treatment plan and email to me prior to attending. I will then contact you to make an appointment.
Bulk Billing available for eligible patients
Veterans with DVA gold or white card, please see your GP to complete DVA referral before appointment
