Video Presentation: The Research Behind the Rapid Upskill Programme
This programme was developed through close collaboration with schools tackling the challenges of post-pandemic SEND education.
In 2021-22, my focus was on setting up an Autism provision and supporting children who missed early intervention due to the pandemic, helping them successfully transition into the setting.
During 2022-23, I worked across a variety of mainstream settings, including supporting Autism provision in two schools through a merger, while strengthening my expertise in the SCERTS framework.
With a solid understanding of the practical challenges involved in institutional upskilling in Autism, my 2024 focus shifted to applying the Education Endowment Foundation’s recommendations alongside the Plan-Do-Review model to create a clear strategic plan for change. This approach is explained in the first 10 minutes of the video below.
Building on this, the 2025 project incorporates the Autism Education Trust’s Progression Framework into the change model. This enhances and sharpens the programme, resulting in a bespoke seven-week rapid autism upskilling programme designed to support lasting change in schools. The final four minutes of the video show how this package has been developed.
Proven track record of progressing provision. I have adapted the AET framework tracking tool to allow progress tracking. This audit can tap into the skills and feedback of all, or key staff.
