Over the past few years, I’ve worked closely with schools to support inclusive practice for autistic and neurodivergent pupils. One area that keeps coming up is leadership: how inclusive values are modelled, communicated, and embedded by SENCOs and Heads — and how that’s perceived across the team.
To help address this, I’m developing a 360° feedback tool specifically for SENCOs and SLT, aligned with:
The Autism Education Trust’s 8 Principles
A clear, constructive feedback process to support growth and reflection
with potential to add own professional goal
I’m currently piloting the tool with a small number of schools I know and trust — and I’d love to invite you to be part of that.
A short self-assessment + feedback from a small number of colleagues
I’ll manage the process and keep everything anonymous
You’ll get a summary of strengths and development areas
Optional follow-up conversation to unpack the findings
Your feedback will help refine the tool before wider rollout
There’s no cost to take part — just an opportunity to help shape something that could have real value across the sector.
Let me know if you're up for it, and I’ll share a simple outline and timeline.
Warmly,
Vicky Carpenter

This 360° feedback tool has been carefully designed to support professional reflection, not evaluation.
It is developmental, voluntary, and confidential.
We recognise that receiving feedback — especially in leadership roles — can feel vulnerable. To protect your psychological wellbeing and make the process as safe and useful as possible, we commit to the following:
✅ You are in control: You decide whether to participate, who gives feedback, and what you do with the results.
✅ All responses are anonymous and non-judgemental: No individual comments will be attributed to any person.
✅ This is not linked to appraisal or performance management.
✅ You’ll be offered a private, confidential 1:1 session to explore the feedback in a reflective and supportive way.
✅ You can withdraw at any time without consequence.
✅ The language used in reports and questions is strengths-based, inclusive, and trauma-informed.
If at any point you feel concerned, overwhelmed, or unsure, you are welcome to speak confidentially with Vicky Carpenter, who will support you in navigating the process with care and integrity.
