Common questions, or concerns. What is a Lateral Opportunity? (a) The BCSO Lateral Opportunity is an extremely rare offer from the Sheriff’s Department, to allow mass amounts of members to laterally, or transfer into the Sheriff’s Office. The simpler explanation is: For instance, you’re currently a member of LSPD as a Senior Officer. You’ll fill out our form, and we’ll change your department from LSPD to BCSO, and you’ll get an equivalent rank (or the next available.) (b) The reason this Lateral Opportunity is being released, is due to the extremely low amount of Sheriff's Office Members/Staff Members.
Closing statement; I do appreciate you guys taking the time to read this announcement. Sheriff's Office will grow, I guarantee. We'll continue to strive until we're one of the best out there. Thanks, guys! - BCSO Sergeant, Tre'Von W. S-112
