PANDEMIC’S IMPACT ON VALUES IN EAST ASIA

Organized by the Japanese Values in Crisis (VIC) project group, this webinar brings all four East Asian teams the opportunity to share first research findings from the nationally representative surveys conducted in their country/region. The event is open for external guests interested in learning how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the values and attitudes of people in East Asia and beyond.

  2. VIC Japan: "Existential Insecurity and Value Change in Japan" by Plamen Akaliyski, Ph.D. (Keio University)

  3. VIC South Korea: "Corona Virus as a Value: Its Arrangements with Human Values in S. Korea" by Jae-Mahn Shim, Ph.D. (Korea University)

  4. VIC Taiwan/China: "Chinese Nationalism in the time of coronavirus" by Prof. Yu-sung Su (Tsinghua University), Dr. Huan-Kai Tseng (National Taiwan University), Prof. Yu-tzung Chang (National Taiwan University) and Prof. Zheng ZhenQing (Tsinghua University)


  • Each team is allotted 30 minutes for presentations and Q&A.
