Video Game Tracker - VGT (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled.

VGT may store the following information locally on your device:
Your game library and wishlist
Game status and completion progress
Play-session durations and dates
Notes that you choose to enter
App preferences and notification settings
Cached game artwork and metadata
This information remains on your device unless you enable a feature that requires it to be transmitted, such as iCloud Sync, or you choose to export or share it.

Eligible VGT Pro and legacy users may enable iCloud Sync.
When iCloud Sync is used, VGT may store the following information in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account:
Game identifiers, titles and platform information
Library and wishlist status
Progress percentages
Play-session durations and dates
Notes entered by you
Synchronization identifiers and modification dates
This information is used only to synchronize your VGT data between devices signed in to your Apple Account.
Private CloudKit records are controlled through Apple’s iCloud service. We do not receive your Apple Account credentials, and we cannot use the CloudKit developer tools to view records in an individual user’s private database.
Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and iCloud terms.

VGT offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s App Store.
Payments and payment information are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment-card number, bank information, or Apple Account password.
VGT uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status and access to VGT Pro features. RevenueCat may process:
An automatically generated anonymous customer identifier
App and device environment information
Product identifiers
Purchase and renewal history
Subscription status
Trial and offer eligibility
Entitlement status
This information is used to validate purchases, prevent fraud, restore purchases, provide subscription features, and understand subscription performance.
VGT does not provide RevenueCat with your name, email address, or a custom VGT account identifier because VGT does not currently operate user accounts.

VGT connects to our server at:
api.vgt.anas8.com
to provide game search, discovery, and game-detail features.
When you perform a search, the search text is transmitted to our server and processed to return the requested results. Search terms are not intentionally retained in application or access logs after the request has been completed.
Our server retrieves game information from IGDB. Information sent to IGDB is limited to the game search or metadata request needed to provide the feature. We do not intentionally send your name, email address, game library, progress notes, or subscription history to IGDB.
Game artwork may be downloaded from IGDB’s image-delivery service. Like most internet services, the service provider may temporarily process technical network information such as an IP address in order to deliver the requested content.
IGDB is operated by Twitch. Its privacy practices are governed by the applicable Twitch and IGDB policies.

VGT uses Firebase App Check with Apple App Attest to help confirm that requests to our server come from a genuine copy of VGT.
For this purpose, Apple and Google may process app-attestation objects, security assertions, and short-lived security tokens. Our server verifies these tokens to prevent fraud, automated abuse, and unauthorized access.
This security information is not used by us for advertising, marketing, or cross-app tracking.

VGT may display links to game trailers or other third-party content.
A trailer is not loaded until you choose to open it. Opening a trailer may take you to YouTube or another external service. That service may receive information normally transmitted during a web request, such as your IP address, device, or browser information, and your interaction with its service.

If you enable notifications, VGT schedules reminders locally through Apple’s notification system.
VGT does not use notification permission to obtain your contact information or to send advertising.
The VGT widget and Live Activities may use the App Group container shared between VGT and its extensions to display your game or session information. This processing occurs on your device.

VGT may allow you to export game or session information as a CSV or similar file.
Exporting occurs only when you request it. After a file is exported, you control where it is stored or shared.
Information sent to another app or service is subject to that service’s privacy practices.

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address, message, and other information you choose to include.
We use this information only to:

Investigate problems
Protect the App
Maintain necessary support records
Do not include sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.

Cross-app or cross-website tracking

VGT does not request access to your:

Local data remains on your device until you delete it using VGT’s deletion features, delete individual records, or delete the App.
When iCloud Sync is enabled, deleting data in VGT is designed to synchronize the deletion to your private CloudKit database.
Deleting VGT from one device may not by itself delete information already stored in iCloud or on another device.
You can manage iCloud data through VGT, your device settings, and your Apple Account’s iCloud controls.
Subscription and transaction records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat for purchase validation, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal compliance.
We cannot delete records that Apple is legally or operationally required to maintain.
Security information is retained only for the limited period needed to:
Validate requests
Enforce rate limits
Investigate abuse
Operate the service
Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer requests, maintain support records, and meet legal obligations.

VGT does not knowingly request or collect a child’s name, email address, location, or other direct contact information through the App.
Purchases made by minors are subject to Apple’s account, family, and parental-control features.
A parent or guardian should supervise a minor’s use of the App and any subscription purchase.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information processed through VGT.
Local data is protected by Apple’s application sandbox.
iCloud data is protected through Apple’s CloudKit security.
Network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections in production, and protected API requests use Firebase App Check.
No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Apple, RevenueCat, Google, Twitch, and their service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
Their processing is governed by their respective privacy policies and applicable data-transfer safeguards.

Because VGT does not operate user accounts and most app information is stored locally or in your private iCloud database, you can exercise many choices directly by editing or deleting information in the App or through your Apple Account.
