VEX IQ teams work best with 3 or 4 members who design, build, code, and drive the robot together. As teams get more competitive, they may have more members and roles may be assigned to students. However, most VEX IQ beginning teams share all of the roles.
Builders: Construct the robot
Programmers: Program the joystick and the robot for the Autonomous Robot Skills Challenge.
Notebookers: Record and document the engineering design process, programming, and game strategies using text, diagrams, sketches, and printed images.
Media Manager: documents the design process through taking pictures and/or videos and creates a tri-fold board to be used during judging at tournaments.
Research and Development: researches and develops new ideas that could be used on future robots.
STEM Research Project Developers: researches and develops the video to compete for the STEM Research Project Award at tournaments.
REC Foundation Online Challenge Participants: participates in online challenges found at https://challenges.robotevents.com/
