Parthenon Part 1

Antoon was asked to come up with a megalomaniac art project in which many hundreds of volunteers could lend their cooperation. His first plan was a replica of the Luxor Temple, but that turned out not to be financially feasible. Then he made plans and sketches for the Parthenon, also a battered masterpiece with allure. With such a long-term community art project you never know in advance how far you will get, the plans and forecasts were regularly updated. Ultimately, Antoon and his team succeeded in getting all the full-size pillars in place.

Parthenon Part 1

Antoon was gevraagd om een megalomaan kunstproject te bedenken waaraan vele honderden vrijwilligers hun medewerking konden verlenen. Zijn eerste plan was een replica van de Tempel van Luxor, mar dat bleek al financieel niet haalbaar. Toen maakte hij plannen en schetsen voor het Parthenon, ook een gehavend meesterwerk met allure. Bij zo'n langdurig gemeenschapskunstproject weet je vooraf nooit hoe ver je zult komen, de plannen en prognoses werden regelmatig bijgesteld. Uiteindelijk is het Antoon met zijn team gelukt om alle zuilen op ware grootte op hun plek te krijgen.
