Ubuntu was the first outdoor spectacle of the municipality of Goes with more than two hundred participants from the Zeeland world of dance, drama, music and acrobatics.

Ubuntu is about the touching story of a young woman who searches across Africa for her brother who disappeared eighteen years earlier.

Water plays an important role in this search. The great African rivers are presented in this piece as persons and play a part in the search. The stands are located at the edge of the water and provide a special experience of this unique African theater spectacle.

Ubuntu was performed 11 times on the banks of the Goese Meer in the weekends of July 10-12 and July 17-19, 2009.

Ubuntu was het eerste spektakel in de openlucht van de gemeente Goes met meer dan tweehonderd deelnemers uit de Zeeuwse wereld van dans, toneel, muziek en acrobatiek.

Ubuntu gaat over het ontroerende verhaal van een jonge vrouw die door heel Afrika op zoek is naar haar achttien jaar eerder verdwenen broer.

In deze zoektocht speelt water een belangrijke rol. De grote Afrikaanse rivieren worden in dit stuk voorgesteld als personen en spelen mee in de zoektocht. De tribunes staan aan de rand van het water en zorgen voor een bijzondere beleving van dit unieke Afrikaanse theaterspektakel.

Ubuntu werd 11 keer opgevoerd aan de oever van het Goese Meer in de weekenden van 10-12 juli en 17-19 juli 2009.
