Two House

The theme for this outdoor exhibition was Sculptural Clothing. On his first visit to the Odapark, Antoon Versteegde saw how bad people were dealing with their existing cultural heritage: the former tea house of the Ursuline Sisters was about to collapse. That is why Antoon came up with with the concept of a copy made of bamboo sticks, tied together with rubber elastics. Everyone thought that this was so beautiful that they wanted to keep the bamboo artwork alive. But the elastic construction could no survive any longer. The task was to restore the old tea house and now it has now become a beautiful museum.

Tweehuis

Het thema van deze buitententoonstelling was Beeldige Kleding. Bij zijn eerste bezoek aan het Odapark zag Antoon Versteegde hoe slecht men omging met het bestaande culturele erfgoed: het voormalige theehuis van de Zusters Ursulinen stond op instorten. Daarom bedacht Antoon het concept om een kopie te maken van bamboestokken, samengebonden met rubberen elastieken. Iedereen vond dit zo mooi dat men het bamboe kunstwerk in leven wilden houden. Maar de constructie met elastieken kon niet langer bestaan. De opdracht was om het oude theehuis te restaureren en nu is het een prachtig museum geworden.
