I graduated in May 2020 from Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA with a double major in Music and Chinese Studies. I am originally from the historic town Plymouth, MA, but I am currently based in Anchorage, AK.
I enjoy performing a variety of musical styles: during my studies at Messiah College I performed with the wind ensemble, orchestra, brass choir, trumpet ensemble, brass quintet, and one of the jazz ensembles. I have also played lead for several musicals and performed for weddings and church services. I have played trumpet since elementary school, when I decided I wanted to play the same instrument as my mom, who is a high school band director.
I love teaching music lessons so I can help students find success and learn to enjoy making music themselves. I teach trumpet/cornet from beginner levels to advanced high school students, as well as French horn, euphonium/baritone, trombone, tuba, and piano at beginner to intermediate levels. One of my favorite things about teaching is the moment when a student has a breakthrough on something they have been working on for a long time!
Apart from music, I lead the Children's Ministry at my church. I also enjoy gardening, reading, crocheting, and going on adventures with my husband and our dog, Basil!
