About Me

Veronica Kassab

I am a 19-year-old, nursing student at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis with future plans of becoming a pediatric and adolescent oncology nurse. After going through several clinical rotations, I have decided that I want to work in a field where I can form stronger relationships with my patients. I chose oncology because I feel that my personality would be a good fit and I love working with kids, especially teens. I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Lebanon High School in May 2019.

My Family

I am extremely close with my family. I absolutely love all of them, especially my siblings. I grew up as the youngest of five kids, and my older siblings are my superheros; they all helped raise me in their own ways and ultimately helped me to become the person I am today.

Traits

Service-Oriented

I absolutely love participating in service activities. During high school, I had the pleasure of being a part of National Honors Society, FFA, Key Club, and Ambassadors. Throughout my experiences in these clubs and working with some amazing co-members I fell in love with helping others and learned the value of putting others before myself.

Courageous

Growing up in my tight-knit family, I learned the importance of standing up for what is right, even when it might not be the most efficient option, and the benefit of taking chances. Life is full of uncertainty, but I am always up for new experiences and new challenges.

STrengths

Team-Work

Working as a CNA during my senior year of high school has taught me the value of team-work and how to work effectively with others. I have learned that there is a time to stand up for what is right and lead, but there is also a time to listen and support those around you.

Compassion

Throughout my entire life, my parents and grandparents, especially my grandmother, have taught me the value of helping others and caring for them as best as I possible can. I love supporting others and helping them as best as I can, this is what fueled my passion for nursing.

PERSEVERANCE

My family has taught me that through hard work and determination, anything is possible. Perseverance is important to me because I know that even though there are challenges and battles ahead, I have the ability to conquer and learn from them.
