About Us

Promoting and more just, joyful and sustainable community

Lisa Holderness is an organic farmer, and part-time STEAM Coordinator and Instructional Coach at GMUSD. Lisa has an MS in Environmental Science from Antioch University and three decades of reflective practice as a teacher, camp director and curriculum developer. Lisa is known for her exuberance and ability to cultivate an atmosphere of curiosity, kindness and fun! She created and directed the #1 rated Junior Naturalist Program in Boston for five years before moving to Elm Lea Farm in 1995 to teach at The Putney School, where she made the connection of science, farming and youth empowerment. In the 2000's she co-created a seasonal field learning program on her farm with teachers from the Green Street School and NOFA-VT. From all those experiences Farm Camp was born, where youth from diverse experiences come together to plan, build, grow and laugh together.
