Two of the LEO goals are community service projects involving little children and literacy.At present, that includes reading to kindergarteners and first graders at FCS,VES and Champlain Valley Christian Schools. Other programs and projects will happen. If you like working with young children, this is the committee for you!

There are many projects that allow the LEOS to work with other organizations. At present this committee includes ideas like helping at the Bixby Library, American Legion Fish Fry, Memorial Day, Vergennes Day, Playground at John Graham Shelter, and more. Career Fair ( Committee Chair- TBD

TBD for 2025 this Career Fair will involve as many LEOS as we can get, grades 5-12, 60-70 jobs, and many different community businesses and individuals. LEOS working on this committee will have many different responsibilities and will be active starting at the very next 1/18/24 meeting. Looking at your own future? Environmental Projects ( Committee Chair- Jing Williams)

When the Vergennes LEOS started in 2024, the area of focus that most LEOS were interested in involved working to better the environment. To date, we have worked hard with projects involving the Otter Creek Wildlife Rescue and have room in the coming year for new projects. What would you like to see done? Several groups have reached out and are interested in working with the LEOS.

This committee is very small. It is 1-3 LEOS who attend Lions Club meetings, report out monthly to the Lions and then bring ideas to the other committee chairs from the LEOS.
