VERB Community Council brings Village of Elbridge residents together to strengthen our community through action, volunteerism, fundraising, and collaboration. We create opportunities for people to connect, support local organizations and businesses, and invest in the beauty, character, and vitality of our Village.

We envision a Village of Elbridge that realizes its potential—a place where people take pride in their community and its small-town character, neighbors know one another, volunteers step forward, local organizations and businesses are connected, and the next generation sees a place worth calling home.
VERB seeks to build on what is already here— revitalization through more community-building, creativity, stewardship, and action. We aim to help residents experience the many possibilities already within our community.
We also want to help leave Elbridge better than we found it—not by holding the community in the past, but by preserving what gives it character, improving what no longer serves the community, and creating what comes next.
History
History
VERB Community Council grew out of the Village of Elbridge’s 175th anniversary celebration, when a group of residents came together to create a memorable community celebration and discovered how much can happen when neighbors work together. After their success, what began as a call for new members to form a beautification committee quickly grew into something broader: a group of residents committed to bringing people together, creating opportunities to volunteer, raising resources, and helping the Village realize its potential.
Since then, VERB has organized volunteer efforts to care for local spaces, held a community cleanup on Earth Day, helped bring back Elbridge’s Christmas luminary tradition, explored possibilities for future park developments, and helped spark new conversations about improving other community spaces.
We recently launched our first holiday decorating contest, with plans to carry the tradition into other holidays, and continue to support and participate in community events throughout the year.
Looking ahead, we’re building partnerships and new traditions. We’re just getting started, but our goal remains simple: to bring people together, put good ideas into action, and give this wonderful community the care, creativity, and attention it deserves.

How to Get Involved
While we are a new group and operate casually in our meetings as a grass-roots collective of volunteers, we want to ensure people know how they can get involved and/or support our mission. We've established this charter to provide expectations, formalities should we need them, be up front about getting involved, and what our goals are.
