Welcome to my homepage. It's nice that you are visiting. Have a look around and I hope you enjoy yourself.
My name is Venus. I am from planet Earth (even-though my name suggests otherwise 😉). I am a Physicist by training and a Gymnast by nature. When I was a kid, I decided I want to learn everything about everything, and so that's what I have been doing with my life, trying to learn as much as I can, about whatever I can. I will fill in more details here as I go, so keep checking this space.
The thing I love the most is figuring out how the Universe works, at the most fundamental level, so naturally, I became a Physicist. I absolutely love my job! It is the best job ever. What I do is; I think about stuff, then go around the world telling people what I have thought about. That's it, that's my job, and I get paid to do this. Isn't this amazing??!!
In technical terms, I am a researcher 👇😉
My research area lies at the intersection of Particle Physics and Early Universe Cosmology. I will write about this more here later, for now, here's the jargon:
Despite its great accordance with experiment, the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics falls short of explaining several aspects of nature. Therefore, it is widely accepted that one needs to consider beyond SM scenarios in pursuit of an ultimate theory of nature. A common characteristic of such scenarios, is an extended scalar sector, suggesting that the observed scalar at the LHC is just one member of a larger Higgs potential. My research focuses on non-minimal Higgs frameworks along the following directions:
Baryogenesis, Leptogenesis
Dynamics of electroweak phase transition
Dark Matter
CP-violation
Inflation
Fermion mass hierachy
Collider phenomenology
Gravitational waves
My scientific interests are: Higgs physics, non-minimal Higgs frameworks, collider phenomenology, dark matter, early universe cosmology, ...
