Because there isn't a huge specific pantry area in my 1 bedroom apartment on Ella and 45, I've come up with some creative solutions to make the most of the space I do have!
A lot of the suggestions I'm going to share with you are unique to having a smaller pantry; however, you can always adapt them to fit your needs if you have a larger pantry!
All of the objects I'm going to offer are quite inexpensive, and some of them may even be found in your own apartment!
The Best Way to Organize Your Shelves
I ended up storing all of our pantry-related goods in one of our larger cabinets as a result of this. I utilized a number of different containers to assist make the most of the vertical space available in the cabinet in order to keep everything highly tidy.
Pastas and grains are kept on the top shelf of the pantry. Rice, quinoa, and any other type of pasta would fall under this category. You'll see that I also have some taco shells stacked on the shelf above.
The items on the middle shelf are more baking necessities. I have a variety of nuts, seeds, coconut flakes, and other ingredients. This is the shelf that I personally enjoy the most!
The bottom shelf has a variety of items. Left-side storage includes whatever vegetable stock I have, as well as bigger containers such as spaghetti sauce, soups, and sauces. Some of my favorite grains and legumes, such as popcorn, lentils, and minute rice, are kept on the right-hand side of the pantry in my apartment on Ella.
I would organize your personal cupboard or pantry space by categorizing goods based on how frequently you use them and how much room you have available. Breakfast goods (pancake mix, syrups, oats, and so on), spices, baking necessities (baking soda, baking powder, flour, and so on), munchies, and so on are all possibilities.
What I Use to Keep My Pantry Organized
In order to keep everything in my pantry organized, I use a variety of containers. Among my all-time favorites are these Target storage containers. They are available for purchase for $4.00 to $13.00.
They are the ideal size for my pantry, and I appreciate that they have a square base, which allows me to utilize the available space (compared to circular ones). Every time I go to Target, I'll buy up another one or two of these treats.
Due to my husband's preference for the local milk available we get at the Woodlands farmers market, we recycle the containers to keep food in them.
If you don't have any recycled containers on hand, you can easily purchase mason jars to achieve a similar appearance! You'll note that I also store a lot of nuts in mason jars, which you'll find interesting!
